Settlement support provides community-based services to clients which include needs assessment, referral and information, orientation and general settlement and integration services. The clients are assisted with settlement-related issues by providing a referral to appropriate resources, to help them access OW, ODSP, EI, Child Tax Benefit, Subsidized housing, Language assessment and training, CPP, Old Age Security Plan, and Guaranteed Income Supplement benefits. The newcomer’s clients in need are connected to community-based services and resources. New community-based programs are created to ease their integration into Canadian society.
