Mr and Mrs Claus Visit Families at Parkway Forest Community Centre
North York Community Celebrated the Christmas season with the WEConnect CS team at the Parkway Forest Community Centre. By 4:30 pm the room was filled with excited families ready to celebrate. It was wonderful to see the excitement on children’s faces as they entered the festively decorated hall ready for Santa’s arrival. For some, it was the first time they would be meeting Santa. While parents played a fun game of Bingo, children enjoyed a Christmas movie shown on a big screen in the same hall. The event was well organized by WEConnect CS. All the children were on their best behaviour for Santa. The evening was full of fun, presents prizes, laughter and special gifts. At 7pm SANTA made his jolly entrance with Mrs Clause in tow.The children were delighted, their faces exuberant with sheer joy, each one trying to put their best foot forward, while adorably reminding those next to them to behave. Santa welcomed everyone and each child was given a gift while taking a special photo with Santa. After receiving presents the children joined their parents at the tables to enjoy delicious refreshments.
WEConnect directors, staff and volunteers took this opportunity to officially welcome all guests. Sejal from WEConnect spoke about the services offered by WEConnect to support newcomers and seniors in the area. The area residents also shared their experiences on how the organization helped ease their settlement when they were new to Canada. The WEConnect team really enjoyed the festivities with the Parkway Families, most who were newcomers to Canada. Families expressed how touched they were to be able to attend such a joyous celebration with their children. This event was special to the hearts as the holiday season is one of the most magical times of the year for little ones it’s a time for kids to experience excitement and anticipation and to spend quality time with their families and to understand the true gift of giving. For parents, it’s a time to create fond memories with their children, to take delight in seeing the joy on their faces as they meet Santa and to enjoy the holidays and take a break from the everyday stresses of life.
